I am a self taught Northern Irish artist currently living and working through the week in Newcastle Upon Tyne and spending my weekends in Scotland with regular return visits to Northern Ireland.
With these three places to take inspiration from I'm never at a loss for something to grab my attention and inspire me to draw, with my main inspiration lately coming from the ruins of houses, vacant shops and urban decay in our landscape.
In 2017 I had three pieces selected for the Clydeside Open Art show with my 'Scottish Black Faced Sheep' drawing selected as best in show.
I was also a contestant in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2018 based on the submission of my self portrait.
In 2018 I had six pieces in the Great North Art Show, Ripon, one piece selected for the 2018 Royal Society of Marine Artists Exhibition, London, one piece shortlisted in the Jacksons Emerging Artist Prize and two pieces in the Society of Scottish Artists 121st Annual Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh.
2019 has seen two of my pieces as part of the Pastel Society exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, six pieces at the Great North Art Show, Ripon, two pieces at the Society of Graphic Fine Art Draw19 exhibition, London, a stand at Art&York and my work now available at the Velvet Easel Gallery, Portobello and the Smithy Gallery, Blanefield.
