Originally from Northern Ireland, Jonathan is a self taught artist currently living and working in Scotland, drawing his inspiration from Scotland, the North of England and regular return visits home to Northern Ireland.
Predominantly working in charcoal, Jonathan produces small detailed studies of rural, urban and industrial landscapes. Portraying the abandoned, derelict and disused as atmospheric monochrome drawings, richly textured through intricate mark-making that rewards the observer with closer inspection.
Over the past four years he has exhibited with Royal Society of Marine Artists, Pastel Society, Great North Art Show, Art&York, Society of Scottish Artists, Jacksons Emerging Artist Prize, Society of Graphic Fine Art and was also a contestant in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2018.
His work is currently available at the following galleries:

Torrance Gallery, Edinburgh
